They kick a lot of ass, and the new cases have a different kind of rubber outer piece that's waaaaaaay better than that old bunch of bullshit.
I'm going just for the ladies next year...and the bike stuff too I guess. Who's up for some MSA chainsaw fun?
7) combo breakers
Tho one of Tippie and his kid is the best by far.
The erb frames have got to be a joke. Seriously, go to their website and tell me someone isn't just fucking around. http://www.erbbike.com/index.html
Wait, so you're bitching about him getting incentives to write "gushing reviews" about a bike that you later say "is a really nice bike"? I think I see what's going on here. You're obviously getting free bikes and trips from Pivot too and are pissed that RC is getting in on the deal as well because, using your reasoning, why would you have any incentive to say it's a good bike unless you too are getting a piece of that same pie? Seriously though, I would understand where you're coming from if you sincerely thought the bike is a piece of shit. But you can't accuse him of giving biased reviews about a product that you too think is good. That destroys your argument completely. Try to come up with a leg to stand on that isn't so wibblywobbly. ---Boosh!
BTW, having owned a 5.7 for about 6 months now I can say that it kicks a serious amount of ass. Best bike I've ever ridden, I can spank the XC spandex bandits on the local trails, go to Moab and absolutely crush dudes on 6"-7" bikes on Porcupine, and jump it with almost reckless abandon.
With that said, there are some things I would change about the build kit choices from Pivot. As RC says, the rear tire kinda sucks and in general the tires that come on the kits aren't set up for tubeless use and I could never seem to get them to seal properly. Ditch Kenda and go with something else, I use Racing Ralphs for Texas and Nics for going out west on rougher stuff. Also, the bike needs a chainguide and MRP makes a 2x10 specific guide that kicks ass when paired up with the ISCG adaptor. Lastly, it needs wider bars. The issue of stem length is based on individual preference and riding style, but coming shipped with a wider bar that can be cut down would be preferable to forcing the customer to swap out bars immediately.
Get a Firebird to replace the SX.
I love mine, the thing kicks ass. Seriously the best trail/all mtn bike I've ever ridden.
Also, with regards to the bitching, I didn't see anyone whine when Levy tested the ASR 5 which is an even more XC oriented bike.
I like how that lady is standing on a wash bin.
That's what I was thinking.
I'll keep an eye out. Luckily being in Texas means I'm pretty sure it's legal for me to shoot the person I see riding it. About Us
